Founded by Xavier Pauchard in 1927, Tolix is an iconic ... brand that has masterfully combined tradition and innovation for nearly a century. Initially a manufacturer of household items, the Tolix brand quickly distinguished itself in metal furniture production, notably with the famous and timeless A chair, featured in the collections of MoMa and the Centre Pompidou. The Lames Tolix stool, part of the Patio collection, perfectly embodies the brand’s expertise by combining strength and elegance, seamlessly integrating into any contemporary space. After the passing of Xavier Pauchard, his son Jean took over the reins and successfully carried on his father’s work. Under his leadership, icons such as the 55 table and the A56 armchair were created, remaining essential pieces in the Tolix catalog. Jean Pauchard continued to expand the company by responding to public tenders, such as that of the University of Dijon, which led to the creation of the "UD" chair, a perfect fusion of functionality and aesthetics.
In 2004, Chantal Andriot took over, accompanied by the Normal Studio duo, redefining the brand's artistic direction. Tolix embodies the very essence of living heritage, skillfully blending tradition and modernity. Its pieces, such as the T37 chair, reflect a rich history, nurtured by the visionary spirit of Xavier Pauchard and his successors. In 2022, under the enlightened leadership of Antoine Bejui and Emmanuel Diemoz, Tolix entered a transformative era, preserving its legacy while resolutely looking to the future.
